Who Is God?

Trying to figure him out

Who is God?
Where is God?
Is it sometimes hard to believe he is real?

If God really is there and he loves us, why doesn’t he fix the problems in our lives?

Let’s find out more about God:

Genesis 1:1 (clue number 1) In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth.

Genesis 1:20 (clue number 2) And God said, “Let the water teem with living
creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.”

Genesis 6:5, (Clue number 3) The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the
earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was
only evil all the time. Genesis 7:1-4 The LORD then said to Noah, “Go into
the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this
generation. 2 Take with you seven [a] of every kind of clean animal, a male
and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, 3
and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various
kinds alive throughout the earth. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on
the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of
the earth every living creature I have made.”

Genesis 22:1-2 , (Clue number 4) God tested Abraham. He said to him,
“Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only
son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there
as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.”

Genesis 32:7 (Clue number 5) Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go down, because
your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. 8 They
have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made
themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and
sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought
you up out of Egypt.’

Samuel 6:6 (Clue number 6) When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon,
Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled.
7 The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act;
therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the ark of God.

Luke 1:26-33 (Clue number 7) In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel
to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man
named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28The angel
went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with
you.” 29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of
greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary,
you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give birth to a
son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be
called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his
father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom
will never end.”

Isaiah 53:5 (Clue number 8) But it was our sins that did that to him, that
ripped and tore and crushed him–our sins! He took the punishment, and that
made us whole

John 3:16 (Clue number 9) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:1 (Clue number 10) Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God;
trust also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that
you also may be where I am. 4You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Psalms 139:1-18 (clue number 11)
